Hatch Reunion 2014

This reunion will ever be distinct in my memory, because both of our kids got sick. And it snowed, the day before we camped there. One for the ages!

We arrived in Idaho on Tuesday, and spent the night there. We enjoyed some down time with the youngest four Nelson cousins, and the Doman cousins as well. The camp site was reserved starting Wednesday, so after a good night's rest we headed up there.

But when we drove up to the camp site Wednesday with other family members, it was snowing! This was unexpected--it was the third week in June! Such is timing, sometimes.

Everyone concurred we would spend Wednesday night at Darren and Loalee's house that was there at that point, so we all headed on back. And when you got there Thursday, you wouldn't have known it had been snowing the day before from how sunny and dry it seemed.

Unfortunately, Jori started feeling sick on the way up, and threw up in the car. This isn't that unusual for her, poor gal, but she usually feels better after she gets out and walks around a bit. This time she didn't, and was sick on and off the whole time. Atticus joined in..I think it was the first night? I don't really remember to be honest. But I think it's fairly needless to say, I wasn't as involved as I might otherwise have been.

Still! I always like when we get to all be together at once, and when she was feeling well Jori loved the time with her cousins. Especially Savannah, who is a year and a half older than Jori. Melanie (Sam's sister who was in charge of it this year) chose a family-history theme, and we all liked the different stories about ancestors and activities that were shared.

They didn't even plan it, seriously. Four out of six of the siblings! Plaid city! I love it.
